Turkey US Immigration Update: Suspension of Nonimmigrant Visas.

On October 8, 2017, the United States suspended all nonimmigrant visa services at U.S. diplomatic facilities in Turkey.  The United States aims to reevaluate the security of its U.S. Mission facilities and personnel during the suspension.  The suspension has been implemented for an indefinite period of time. In response, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has suspended the issuance of visas to U.S. citizens. https://tr.usembassy.gov

The suspension is limited to the issuance of nonimmigrant visas and does not include immigrant visa processing. The United States has not issued a travel ban for citizens of Turkey. Our firm continues to assist its clients with visa needs in Turkey and their options for visiting or remaining in the United States. If you are affected by the recently instituted suspension, please do not hesitate to contact us for a consultation.
