Shelby Hoffman grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Miami in 2014. Ms. Hoffman graduated cum laude from New York Law School in 2017 with a focus in International Law. During law school, she completed internships at Legal Services NYC, Human Rights Watch, and the U.S. Court of International Trade, and was heavily involved in New York Law School’s Civil Rights Clinic, Center for Transitional Justice, and Legal Association for Women. After graduating law school, Ms. Hoffman completed the City of New York’s Social Justice Fellowship.
Ms. Hoffman joined the BMK team in 2019. Her previous immigration experience involved successfully representing asylum seekers in removal proceedings. She works on matters concerning employment- and family-based nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas, permanent residence, and naturalization. Ms. Hoffman is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
